PROJECT

ASD Tools was created from lived experience at a time when there were no autism support apps available on the App Store. Early intervention tools existed, but they were entirely physical and largely restricted to therapists, leaving parents without the structure systems or guidance needed to support their child’s progress at home. This gap limited continuity of care and made it difficult for families to reinforce calming routines learning behaviours and transitions outside of therapy settings.

ACTION

I designed and built ASD Tools as the first multi tool app on the App Store and the first autism support app of its kind. Drawing on proven early intervent

ion methodologies, I translated physical therapist only tools into an accessible digital structure for parents and children. The app introduced clear calming routines to help children learn to regulate emotions, relearn how to learn, build new skills and navigate time based transitions which are notoriously challenging for children on the spectrum. I also designed an integrated reward chart system to support motivation focus and positive reinforcement.

RESULT

ASD Tools empowered families with practical everyday support that extended therapy outcomes into the home. The app gained recognition for its simplicity effectiveness and accessibility and operated as a sustainable digital product for over a decade. In 2024, I successfully sold ASD Tools as a standalone business, demonstrating its long term value impact and commercial viability.

I advocated for it’s inclusion in classrooms with the Department of Education both in Australia and various countries overseas such as NZ, UK, USA, Canada and t was adopted by many as their go to autism support for the classroom. Therapists around the world adopted it because of it’s easy of use , proven early intervention framework access fand support for families at home, all which supported and benefited of additional needs kids around the world.
